Meet the Founder
Hey there,
I'm Aiesha, a paediatric registrar and parent with a passion for improving the health and wellbeing of children and families.
With both personal and professional experience of looking after children, I understand just how challenging life with a newborn baby can be physically, emotionally and socially. The structure of the village our parents and grandparents grew up with has changed and can leave many of us feeling isolated. After seeing how traditional antenatal and birthing classes often miss the mark in supporting women and their partners during the transition to parenthood, I knew there had to be a better way, and so Awêkind was born. At each event I'll be there to provide you with personalised, culturally relevant, and evidence-based advice.
So whether you're expecting a little one, a new parent, or part of the village needed to raise a child I invite you to join me on this adventure. Let's swap stories, share laughs, and embark on a journey of growth and discovery together. Here's to building a community where every family feels supported.
